- Use of condomsUnsafe sex is one of the most common reasons behind the transmission of STDs. But when you use a condom while having sex, it reduces the chances of an STD transmission. A person who is allergic to latex condoms (latex allergies) can also go for synthetic non-latex condoms. By using a condom, there is not lesser pleasure obtained, but it surely saves one from obtaining a deadly STD.
- Reduce the number of sexual partnersWith the increased number of sexual partners, there is a higher chance of obtaining an STD. If you indulge in active free sex with multiple partners, it becomes vital to get them checked for traces of STD. In fact, one should get themselves checked for STDs every once in a while for security. Don’t share undergarment or towels. It is important to wash before and after the intercourse.
Indulging in mutual monogamy is the best way to avoid STD. This means having sex with only one person who is going to be sexually active only with you. Whether this is established through marriage or other means, this is the best way of avoiding STDs.
- Get vaccinated.There are various vaccinations available that can prevent some of the sexually transmitted infections. There is a vaccine available against Hepatitis B and human papillomavirus. Vaccines are safe and effective ways to prevent some infections. It is always better to take precaution before it gets too late.
