A BREAKTHROUGH IN PHONE TECHNOLOGY WHICH ALLOWS CALLS AND TEXTS EVEN WITH ZERO BATTERY

Smartphones are one of the most powerful devices that we own. They come in handy in the times of crisis to make emergency calls and be protected.

Smartphones are one of the most powerful devices that we own. They come in handy in the times of crisis to make emergency calls and be protected. However, the major downfall of the smart phones today lies in their battery life. Even the best of the devices need to be charged daily for optimum use.

Even if the mobile phone isn’t android or ios, the device needs to be charged to last throughout the day. However, the problem isn’t simply the charge but also the charging time it requires for the phone to get completely charged up. It ranges from an hour to four hours for a full battery recharge.

The new technology might be advancing with the battery capacity more than ever. But, in the current scenario, where crimes happen in a heartbeat, there is a need for a phone technology which can allow us to make calls or send text messages without battery power.

It is extremely difficult to keep track of battery in the daily life where we are surrounded by the daily complexities of life. There have been recent advancements in the sector where the battery can be charged in thirty seconds for a full power. But, what if we don’t even have access to a power source?

THE INVENTION

In the United States, researchers have made a prototype of a mobile phone which can be operated without the battery. The researchers hope to gain access to themass market for the product usage.

In Seattle, the researchers from the University of Washington made this prototype by collecting radio frequency waves that are some minor amount of power from the radio signals. Since the ambient radio frequency waves are present all around us, the phone can be operational.

The operation of the phone is basic and the caller needs to wear headphones and press button to switch between listening and talking. Even though this is the first prototype, the researchers aim to further develop the idea and make a phone containing a basic camera along with texting feature.

The future product is stated to be released in 8 to 9 months duration even though it cannot be confirmed. The futuristic model is said to change the entire outlook of the mobiles today since the futuristic smartphones will have a battery free mode where the calls can be made even when the battery is dead.
