Mammals and humans are made of same flesh and blood and the basic life stages are also same. The evidence of continuity in evolution is prevalent between the human and animal bodies. Medical science also uses some animal organs and tissues for replacing or repairing the human’s organs or tissues.
For example, pig’s heart valve can be used for replacing the malfunctioning human body parts. Drugs and tests are carried out on animals to find the results on the humans. All this points to the fact that human bodies and animal bodies are profoundly similar.
THE DIFFERENCE IN MIND
Even though there is physical continuity between the humans and animals, the mind is completely different. Humans have a developed mind that tames us down and makes us different from animals. Civilizations have been formed over time along with developing various technologies that have been fundamental in changing the look of the Earth.
Different people have different perception of animal minds. Some regard animals to be compassionate, understanding and loving while others treat them as mindless subjects for food and medical experiments. Even scientists can’t decide upon the exact perception for the animal’s mind.
WHAT MAKES A HUMAN UNIQUE
Humans are considered to be unique in terms of the features like mind reading, language, foresight, culture, morality and even morality. Animals don’t seem to have enough developed mind that can assist them in making discoveries like humans.
The various discoveries and inventions throw a light on the evolutionary process of the planet Earth. The genome structure of humans is entirely different and more complex than any other animal. Research shows that great apes and humans share various capabilities including the recognition of reflection in the mirror. Legal actions have been taken to make sure that animals are not tortured or treated with cruelty.
The main characteristic that makes a human ‘human’ is the ability to think about the possible alternative future and outcomes of the actions performed. Humans have the ability to make deliberate alternative choices to change the outcome of the entire process. Humans have a moral responsibility that comes along with new inventions and new ways.
The social responsibility comes with the knowledge of consequences of the actions performed. Humans have the responsibility to make sure that other animals don’t get extinct due to human activities. Only humans possess the capability to change the path for a desirable futuristic outcome.
