The Realm Of 5g Data And The United States

In this era of technology with super fast internet speed, everything is available on the tips of the finger. 4G has slowly crept its way into mobile technology. Everyone wants a 4G smartphone to have great internet access. The Internet has not only brought the world closer but has also increased awareness about stuff.

5G technology almost sounds like a dream. 4G works like magic with the internet pages opening within seconds. 5G is an instant click to downloading and surfing the wide range of topics on the internet.

UNITED STATES AND 4G

The United States had led the way when it came to launching 4G services. There was a smooth transition from 3G to 4G all over. A huge amount of money was invested in providing Americans with a great wireless network with fast speed at an affordable price. The Federal Communications Commission opened up valuable spectrum and that saw a growth in the number of mobile data users.

There was even an increase in Gross Domestic Product which opened up to more than 7 lacs new jobs. America earned its name in the field of global digital economy. With the change in era, 5G is soon coming to life.

The realm of 5G is arriving and the economic stakes are higher than usual. The consumers, policymakers and mobile industry will be largely affected by this since it can lead to the creation of new jobs on a much higher scale, need for newer 5G enabled devices, and more applications requiring 5G etc.

WHY UNITED STATES ISN’T READY FOR 5G

There are several reasons why the United States can’t afford to invest in 5G right now-

Ø  U.S. does not have enough fibre for increasing the network capacity or make the network denser.

Ø  Even though increasing the deep fibre technology can create more options for the consumers and boost up the country’s infrastructure for communication, only 39% of the households in U.S. that have a speed of 25 Mbps.

Ø  90% of the Americans still have access to broadband.

Ø  The United States needs a lot of money, somewhere around $130-$150 billion, as an investment for adopting the new wireless technology. It needs funds for covering up the rural areas completely and for wireless densification.

Ø  There is a need for U.S. to unleash the full possibilities of 5G by creating wireline transformation. There is a need for reducing the regulatory restrictions that can help in boosting up deep fibre programs.
